Shadja’s First Concert Series

The Australian tour of acclaimed Carnatic musicians Sri G. Ravi Kiran (vocal) and Sri Trivandrum Sampath (violin), who will be accompanied by our very own local percussionists,  Bala Sankar and Nanthesh Sivarajah. .

The Sydney concert will be held at Pennant Hills Community Centre (70 Yarrara Rd, Pennant Hills, within the Library building) on SUNDAY the 5th of July, 2015 at 4pm.

This will be followed by a short Classical Indian Dance segment by Smt. Aruna Gandhi & Troupe performing ‘Hiranmaya Kandam’ and ‘Ode to Australia’.

The net proceeds of the concert will be donated in support of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of Australia to sponsor a school, furthering their work to eradicate illiteracy in tribal and rural India.

The program is a new initiative of Shadja, launched by Bala Sankar to share his passion for Carnatic music and classical Indian dance. “The idea is to introduce, encourage and inspire performers and audiences to discover music and dance by showcasing the relevance of these art forms in our world today” says Bala Sankar.
