Nagaraj Hegde – Hindustani Flute

The Vedanta Centre of Sydney is happy to organize a bansuri (flute) recital by Sri Nagaraj Hegde—a Hindustani classical flutist—on Friday, 16 March 2018 at 7:30 pm after the regular evening aratrikam at 7:00 pm.

Nagaraj was born into a musical family and had his initial training under T.V. Chauvan of Dharwad. Later he learnt the flute for about 14 years under Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi who was an acclaimed flutist and vocalist. Nagaraj was also guided by Padmashree Ustad Shahid Pervez Khan.

He will be accompanied on tabla by Bharavi Deraje. Bharavi started learning tabla from Keremane Sri Rama Hegde, later from Sri Putturu Seetharama Nayak and subsequently from Sri Madhava Acharya Udupi. Presently Bharavi is being guided by Sri Gurumoorthy Vaidya, Bangalore.
