Karpahavalli 10th Anniversary

Karpahavalli 7th May

Karpahavalli takes great pride in inviting you to our annual event – ‘Astute Sydney City Central presents Vaggeya Vaibhavam 2017‘. This event has added significance as this will be the focal point of Karpahavalli’s 10th year celebrations. From 2007 to 2017 this has been a wonderful journey.

Vaggeya Vaibhavam, translated to “Celebration of Composers”, is one of Karpahavalli’s showpiece events. It is a day to celebrate the life and music of two of the greatest Tamil composers of all time – Sri Kotiswara Iyer and ‘Tamil Thiyagarajar’ Sri Papanasam Sivan.

The day marks a 2 part event. It will commence with renditions of compositions of Kotiswara Iyer or Papanasam Sivan by Australia’s musicians, followed by a thematic grand vocal concert by visiting artists, Bharat Sundar from Chennai.

We wish that all teachers and students are able to pay homage to the composers. We welcome you to participate either in groups or individually. Please register by clicking on the link below. Only 15 – 18 spots remain. Before registering, please have the following ready:
