12 June to 14 June 2010 The Sydney Music Festival will run for three consecutive days for the fourth year in a row bringing professional musicians and dancers of great calibre from India to our shores run by Swaralaya Inc. More details placed here closer to time.
Sunday 13 June 2010 at 3.30pm Cafe Carnivale in collaboration with Nayika Indian Dance presents “The Magic of Ankle Bells” at Rafferty’s Theatre Parramatta Riverside. The evening shall feature classical Indian dance to live Karnatic music with an ensemble of ancient instruments the Veena and the Mridangam. Artists include Indu Balachandran on Veena, Shubha Harinath on Vocal, Bala Sankar on Mridangam and Vimala Sarma an exponent of the Kuchipudi style of temple dance from India.
