They have been invited to perform in Delhi at the joint the Australian high commission and Govt of India with mridangam maestro karaikudi and members of his Sruthi  laya ensemble. Ravi&#8217;s sons Sai Nivaeithan and Sai Sarangan and himself have returned after taking part in about 27 concerts at the Chennai music festival. The focus has been on Sai nivaeithan who played over 15 concerts for senior artists and sai sarangan in  6 concerts.  They boys won critical acclaim from senior vidwans who were present at their concerts on several occasions. A small daily participation fee will be offered to confirmed participants. &#160; Email expressions of interest (one paragraph bio and a few lines stating why you are interested in this workshop) to Helen Martin, Program Manager at projects@criticalpath.org.au by close of Monday 16 Jan, 2012. &#160; Working with Jayachandran Palazhy, participants of this workshop will be introduced to the concepts embedded in the Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam and martial art Kalarippayattu. The use of gravity, neurocentric movement ideas, breath and centering of the body will be investigated. Delicate micro-movements and the use of eye focus in augmenting or dilating a movement as well as macro movement; surprise, contrast, will be addressed. &#160; Attakkalari’s unique contemporary movement vocabulary will be introduced through short sequences. This vocabulary incorporates principles of Indian performance and physical traditions. In the corner of my eye is a movement and then I hear footsteps&#8230; Blue Divine !!&#8216;Where the difference between the singer and the song no longer exist, there is Music&#8217; said Anil Srinivasan and in so saying began the journey of the keys joined by the voice, the poetry and the story told by the footsteps bringing to fruition an entrancing evening at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre here in Sydney In an exquisitely intricately laced partnership Sikkil Gurucharan and Anil Srinivasan explored poetry from the 4th century to the 19th century poetry from renowned texts, setting the pace for the evening with Kalidasa&#8217;s composition followed by Nightingale in the Grove, in &#8216;Punkuyil Koovam Pooncholayil Ore Naal&#8216; and the sensitive selection of the keys in &#8216;Thanimayil Inimmai Kanden&#8216; &#8216;In solitude I am found&#8217;. In an Interview a few years ago, Goving Pillai told Sydhwaney, that his dream was to bring draw australian focus to Bharathanatyam and bring it closer to the broader Australian community. 		<description><![CDATA[&#160; &#160; The Tradition of Lalgudi&#8217;s Music came to Sydney, held on the day after India won the Cricket match to Sri Lanka, on 3rd April 2011 at 4PM at Ryde Civic Centre. The half drowsy audience and organisors slowly strolled into Ryde Civic Centre ready to be captivated by Lalgudi Jayaraman&#8217;s son and daughter, in a violin duet accompanied by Mannargudi Easwaran on the mrudangam &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; Lalgudi Krishnan dominated the show taking the lead, with a rare Varnam in raga Amrithavarshini. After which he again lead with rare ragams such as Rasali in Aparama Rasa Nilayam; Ragavardhini in K Iyers composition Kalangadhe Yen Maname; Ragam Lalitha in Shyama Shastri&#8217;s composition Nannu Brova Lalitha; and Ragam Rudrapriya in a composition of NS Krishnaswami Iyer. The three main explorations conducted in Ragams Mohanam in &#8216;Kaapali&#8216; Papanasam Sivam&#8217;s famous kriti, Bhairavi in Enati Naalu Palamu, Thyagaraja Composition based on the Prahlada Bhakthi and Ragam Khamboji were detailed with moments of Lalgudi peeping through their explorations, the concert was dominated by its journey into the unknown with the precision of a calculus in arithmetic symmetry.
